Food is necessary and some of us are foodies, who always try to explore new delicacies and better dining experiences every time. Dining out has become a trend in today’s era but if you see it from a different angle then there has been always little research into its association with health outcomes. There are some consequences when you regularly dine out. You cannot rely on outside food at all because there are chances of food not being hygienic, so you never know either you are consuming infection which can make you sick over time or not. The death rate has also become huge and yet, the trend of dining out is still flowing.
Eating out has always been a risk to life and it is proved by investigations and studies. Hence, eating out is a trend in youth. The analysis was done by the U.S. department of agriculture and it estimated that Americans’ daily energy intake from food away from home is increased in recent times, from 17 percent in 1977-1978 to 34 percent in 2011-2012. In this period, the number of restaurants has been increased and restaurant industry sales are forecasted to increase significantly.
Since dining out is not a bad practice because some restaurants serve high-quality good food. But still, the dietary quality for meals away from home especially in food chains is much lower, compared from home-cooked meals. According to a survey it has been seen that meals away from home contain many types of constituents which level up your body fat and sodium level. On the other hand, they also provide lower nutrients such as dietary fiber and antioxidants.
Evidence suggests that eating out frequently is associated with an increased risk of chronic diseases such as obesity and diabetes and biomarkers of other chronic diseases. It is explained by the lead investigator Wei Bao MD, Ph.D. and assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology of University of Iowa, U.S.A. However, very less is known about the association between eating meals away from home and the risk of mortality.
